Vascular Medicine
Vascular medicine focuses on conditions and diseases that affect arteries and veins, and impair blood flow. Vascular disease can contribute to coronary artery disease (heart attack) and stroke, two of the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. Crestwood Medical Center offers a range of services for prevention and treatment of vascular diseases.
Our services:
- Angioplasty - a balloon is inserted into a blocked or constricted artery to compress blockages and expand the width of the artery.
- Aortic intervention (endograft) - a technique used to repair an aortic aneurysm. An endograft is a fabric covered metallic stent.
- Arteriogram - an x-ray image of the blood vessels used to evaluate various vascular conditions.
- Carotid artery stenting - a minimally invasive procedure used to treat a blockage in the carotid artery.
- Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) Intervention - a technique used to treat a blood clot that may occur with in the deep veins of the body.
- Port-a-cath insertion - a technique used to place a venous access device called a port-a-cath that is often implanted in the upper chest or the arm to allow easy access to a view for different frequent injection therapies.
