Cardiovascular Diagnosis & Imaging
Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiography
Cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a noninvasive imaging test that uses CT scan and computer software to look at the arteries supplying blood to the heart. It is different from conventional ways of evaluating the heart vessels in that it does not require sedation or extended monitoring after the procedure.
Insurance may cover the cost of the CCTA procedure. Please contact your insurance company regarding your policy and coverage of CCTA.
Computed Tomography Angiography
Computed tomography angiography (CTA) is used to acquire images of the pulmonary vessels and lower extremity vessels. This noninvasive imaging test can help radiologists identify numerous health conditions such as pulmonary embolism, stenosis, aneurysm or thrombosis.
Electrocardiogram
An electrocardiogram, also known as an EKG, is a test that measures the electrical signals that control the rhythm of your heartbeat. During the test, electrodes (small, plastic patches) are placed on a patient’s chest, arms and legs. These electrodes are also connected to the EKG machine that measures and interprets the electrical activity of the heart, providing your doctor with important information about the size of the chambers of the heart and the pumping function of the heart.
