(Huntsville, AL) - July 24, 2024 - The Special Procedures department is the latest recipient of the DAISY Team Award at Crestwood Medical Center. This award recognizes extraordinary collaboration, dedication and compassion in providing exceptional patient care.
“I have never worked with a team that does the hard work that they do,” said Shelley Sizemore, clinical manager of special procedures. “They pull together and they are so willing to help each other out, which ultimately helps our patients. They're so deserving of this award.”
The DAISY Team Award is part of the internationally recognized DAISY Foundation's program, established to honor the exceptional efforts of nursing professionals and their collaborative teams. This award celebrates the remarkable efforts of healthcare teams that work together to provide outstanding care to patients and their families.
“We are growing and continuing to grow,” said Sizemore. “Our nurses are very versatile. They work in pre-op, they work in post-op, they work in the procedure rooms. They’re willing to do whatever they need to do.”
"We are incredibly proud of our Special Procedures Department for receiving the DAISY Team Award," said Matthew Banks, chief executive officer at Crestwood Medical Center. "This honor reflects their hard work, dedication, and the exceptional level of care they provide to our patients every day. Their teamwork and commitment to excellence are truly inspiring."
The team was nominated by their peers and patients, who praised their ability to work seamlessly together, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, high-quality care. Their efforts have not only improved patient outcomes but also enhanced the overall patient experience at Crestwood Medical Center.
