Crestwood Medical Center’s ALS Clinic Recognized as Certified Treatment Center of Excellence by ALS Association

 HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Crestwood ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Care Clinic has once again been recognized by the ALS Association as a Certified Treatment Center of Excellence following the successful completion of its 2025 review process. 

Certified Treatment Centers of Excellence are evaluated on rigorous standards that include specialized clinical care, research participation, community engagement and partnerships with ALS organizations. The designation is the highest honor awarded by the organization and recognizes Crestwood Medical Center’s clinic for providing exceptional multidisciplinary care for patients living with ALS. 

Crestwood’s multidisciplinary team includes registered dietitians, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, registered nurses and neurologists specializing in ALS care. 

 “This recognition reflects the dedication and compassion of our entire team,” said Sherry Kolodziejczak, director of the Crestwood ALS Clinic. “Our goal is to ensure every patient and family receives comprehensive, coordinated care while also advancing ALS research and education. We are proud to continue serving our community as the ALS Association’s only designated Certified Treatment Center of Excellence in North Alabama.”

The Certified Treatment Center of Excellence designation reinforces Crestwood’s ongoing commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate care to patients and families affected by ALS throughout North Alabama and the surrounding region.

ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative condition that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
